Bloomin Beautiful yet again! Club Card

Another card we did at our club meeting two weeks ago. Of course I used my new favourite stamp set, Bloomin Beautiful! On this card I used the Top Note die with some Walk in the Park Designer Paper (which you could get FREE if you purchase three other designer papers this month!) The poppies are coloured with Ruby Red and Cameo Coral Stampin Write markers and a Blender Pen with Kiwi Kiss ink. The black brads, ribbon and card base make everything pop!
Ok we are going to try this give-a-away again. This time just send me an e-mail to enter you into the contest to win a free Regal Rose Craft ink pad and ink refill. I think my e-mail is working again since I am now receiving junk e-mail and this will be a great way to test it. Just put Regal Rose Craft ink pad in the subject line. You have until tomorrow night to send me an e-mail and I will do a draw Tuesday morning. I will send a quick response to you when I get your e-mail so if you don't hear from me, try again.

Spring Fling Class...

Here is a little preview of my Spring Fling Class on Sunday May 24th at my place. Pictured are three of the items we will be making: a picture frame, a sunflower box and a notecard box (with 5 notecards). We will also be making a stamped candle (not the candle itself) and a notecard kit
in a tin. Please call to sign up for this class as my e-mail is onthe fritz and I haven't received any since the weekend. Don't forget that for every class you take in May and June gets you a ballot to win a brand new Full of Life stamp set (pictured in my April 16th posting)! Cost for this class is $25.
Because my e-mail is not working I am holding on my draw for the Regal Rose Craft ink pad and ink refill. Once my e-mail is working I will re-issue that draw, those of you who e-mailed me will be entered.

Club Card - Great Friend and Oval All...

This is one of the cards we did at our April club meeting using a technique called Faux silk (it basically gived the look of raw silk when you see it in person!) I used the Great friends and Oval All stamp sets from the Occasions mini catalogue. The ink colours we used were Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette. The patterned paper is from Bella Rose (am I going to miss this paper or what. I hope they save the design and just change the colours in the new catalogue this summer!) We also used a corner ticket punch and the new scallop oval punch in the Occasions mini.

Nursery Necessities Sailboat card

Such a cute little baby card! Nursery Necessities makes the best cards for babie and I am sure it would be great in a scrapbook as well. For this card I used Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Barely Banana cardstock and inks. The silver eyelet, pink tafetta ribbon and scallop edge finish off this card perfectly.
In the spirit of pink I am giving away a Regal Rose craft ink pad and ink refill to one of you who post a comment on todays card. I will do a draw on May 8th. I will post the winner then. If there is only one comment you of course win! You must be a currant customer of mine to win. If you are posting with a fancy code name please drop me an e-mail so I know who you are!

Wonderful Watercolours

As soon as I saw this stamp set in the catalogue I knew this was a must have for me, daisies are my absolute favourite flowers (followed by tulips and daffodils in case you were wondering) It's a two step stamping set, which means there is an outline image and a solid image and the stamp set has a bit of a learning curve to use. Unless of course you already own a Stamp-a-ma-jig, which makes stamping this card a breeze. To make this card I used Certainly Celery, Barley Banana and Apricot Appeal which look very fresh and "springy" to me. I also used the Eyelet Border punch as well as Basic Gray Classic ink for the sentiment.

Bloomin Beautiful Again....

This is my new favourite card with my new favourite stamp set. The Cameo Coral (a very neglected colour in my collection) and the Basic Black are a stunning colour combination (in my own opinion) The flower is stamped with Black Staz On three times and coloured with Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa and Mellow Moss Stampin Write Markers. The word "bloom" is embossed with white embossing powder and the black and white gingham ribbon adds the perfect touch to the card.

Blooming With Love...Club card

This card is one of the cards my club did with the stamp set "Blooming With Love" It's almost Mother's Day so I figured I should squeeze at least one card in before the big event. This stamp set is so much fun to colour (something I am really loving to do lately) We used Stampin Write markers to colour the flowers but we used an Aquapainted with Going Gray Classic ink to colour the wheelbarrow. The card base was made with Going Gray textured cardstock and the cardstock layers were So Saffron and Pretty in Pink. I used Natural White cardstock because it is a bit heavier than Whisper White and takes the watercolouring well without warping.

Bloomin Beautiful...

This is just one of the many new cards I have made this week with my new stamp set Bloomin Beautiful from the catalogue. It's been in the catalogue for over a year and I just kept passing it by, but one of my customers ordered it and seeing it in person made me realize just how gorgeous this set is. If you love to colour you are going to LOVE this stamp set. I have been having so much fun playing with it, so much in fact, I revamped one of my cards for this weekends stampers group just so we could use this set!

Supplies Used to Make this card:
  • Bloomin Beautiful stamp set
  • Thinking of You stamp set ("For you")
  • Silver Hodgepodge
  • Almost Amethyst, Mellow Boss and Lovely Lilac Stampin Write markers
  • Staz on Black ink
  • Loverly Lilac Classic Ink
  • White Tafetta ribbon
  • Lovely Lilac, Whisper White and Lavender Lace cardstock

Flight of the Butterfly ....

If you love butterflies you are going to love this stamp set as much as I do. I just love the two step stamping ( you can pick polka dots of flowers to layer overtop of the solid butterfly) and it has great swirly verses to use with the butterflies. On this card I also used Tangerine Tango Designer Series paper and a daisy flower I cut out with my Big Shot and the Flower, Daisies #2 die.
Butterflies have been my big "rage" this spring and I am loving the butterflies in this stamp set, Simple Friendship, Great Friend (from the Occasions mini) and God's Beauty (the level one hostess set) I'll try not to let all my other stamp sets feel neglected though!

Take a class....win great stuff!

See the beautiful tin...I have both the inside and the outside posted. It's a notecard kit I made with the Great Friend stamp set in the Ocassions mini catalogue. It includes all the supplies to make 5 of the notecards pictured including envelopes, brads, ribbon, designer paper and stamped images(as well as my sample card!) Every person who attends my Simple Friendship card class will be entered into a draw to win this tin! I still have two spaces left. See all the details for the class in my April 6th post below!

Take a class in May or June and win the Full of Life stamp set (Pictured below)!!!!
For every class you take of mine (private, here at my house or 2go!) in May and June you will get a ballot to win a brand new Full of Life stamp set! While it's not pictured in the catalogue, it is still current (on the dormant list!) I will do the draw on July 1st and post it here on my blog who won! Good luck!

Simply Said....

Here is an oldie but a goodie stamp set. It's been around for years now and yet when every retirement list comes out, it's never on it. It's been awhile since I pulled it out and made some cards with it so here is a card I made this week. While I think this stamp set looks great in all colours I think it looks fabulous using the nice bright colours from the Bold Brights colour family. I stamped the image in black and then coloured it in with markers from the Bold Bright family. To do the polka dot strip I coloured the dots on the Polka Dot background stamp (not in the catalogue but still available to order) with markers, huffed and then stamped.

Cheep Talk

This is a simple little card I made with the Cheep Talk stamp set in the catalogue. I coloured all the images with markers and huffed on the stamp before actually stamping it to the paper.
The deadline for my Simple Friendship class is coming up soon (this Sunday!) Be sure to check back here later this week to see what I will be giving away to one of the people who signed up for the class. The class is also available to go if you can't make the class on May 2nd.

Thoughts and Prayers...

This card was one of the cards we did last month in my classes to show how simple and awesome embossing is! I don't emboss that much, in fact I am sure I use my heat gun more to dry images than to emboss but the simplicity of the gold embossing on the Very Vanilla cardstock is so pretty to me. In a few months I am going to start my Christmas classes (yep starting Christmas cards early this year!) so I am sure my embossing gun will get a lot more use.

Supplies to Make This Card

  • Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set
  • Beautiful Borders Stamp Set ("with sympathy" stamp)
  • Versamark Watermark Ink Pad
  • Gold Embossing Powder
  • Black Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Black Staz On ink
  • Black Brads
  • Basic Black, Very Vanilla cardstock
  • Brushed Gold cardstock

Simple Friendship Class

This is one of the five cards we will be making at my Simple Friendship class on Saturday May 2nd, 10 am at my place. Cost for signing up is $45. This price includes your own Simple Friendship stamp set to take home as well as the 5 cards we will be making in the class. Sign up deadline is Sunday April 19th so I can have enough stamp sets ordered in time for this class.

Great Friend

This card was one of the first I made with the new stamp set "Great Friend" out of the new Occasions mini catalogue. I used Baja Breeze and Night of Navy for the colours and absolutely no embellishments, which was incredibly hard for me. I have a compulsive need to add ribbon, brads or something. I may have to go back later and add something but for now I am trying to let it be!

Until the end of April, spend $50 (before shipping and tax) out of the mini catalogue and get any item on page 208 free! E-mail me for more details!

A Good Egg

I just love this little guy! Isn't he the cutest. Apparently you all think so too because I have never had a bigger selling stamp set! And to think I almost didn't buy him myself.

These two cards are ones we did last month in my stampers club and various classes. People liked the pink but I think the green was a much bigger hit. Too bad I didn't have more green brads and more of the green galore patterned paper (from the Rainbow Sherbert Designer Paper) The blue paper is from the Washington Apple Designer Paper. The polka dot backround stamp was on both cards (not in this catalogue but still available to order!)

You Quack me Up!

Here is cute little card made from the Animal Crackers stamp set. The animals in this set are just adorable. I bought it for the giraffe because I just love giraffe's but I haven't actually made a card with that stamp yet. The paper I used on this card is from the Washington Apple designer series paper.
I hope everyone had a nice March break, I know for some of you it went by far too fast. Only a few more weeks until the Easter break (and the new Hannah Montana movie Mary is counting down to!)

Isn't this little chick the cutest thing ever! I love him. I wasn't going to buy him but when one of my club members ordered him and I saw the stamp set I knew I just had to have him (thanks Tina!) This is just one of the many cards I made with him and my club members later this month will get to make a different card with him (which I will probably post in April) Now is the time to order Easter stamps and supplies if you want to have time to make cute stuff before Easter (which is quickly approaching, April 12th)

Heartfelt Thanks...

Heartfelt Thanks is a stamp set I have had since before I started Stampin Up, classes etc so I find it pushed to the back of all my stamp sets when something new and exciting is coming in. I was glad I pulled it out for this card because I think it's beautiful stamped on the pale plum. The "Warm Wishes" and the embossed border (Perfect Plum craft ink embossed with clear embossing powder) are both from the Beautiful Borders stamp set. The edge of the card is punched with the scallop edge punch. Purples are my new, gotta use colour since it has been severly neglected in my collection. In fact it's only been in the past month that I have had to buy new packs of Lovely Lilac, Perfect Plum etc.. cardstock since I started doing this....two years ago!

Petal Pizzazz

I just love the colours I used on this card, I must be a colour genius! (so full of myself aren't I? LOL!)

It makes me think of spring, which had better be on it's way because I am really really really tired of winter. Is it just me or does winter seem really long this year? It's always long, because of where we live and I usually just go with the flow but I need to see some tulips really soon!

Supplies to Make this Card

  • Petal Pizzazz Stamp Set
  • Thank You Kindly Stamp Set
  • See You Around Wheel
  • Apricot Appeal, Tangerine Tango,Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss Classic Inks

A Little Birdie Told Me....

Birds are so "in" this year I thought I should probably bring out some of my bird stamps and start playing with them. This little bird is from the "A Little Birdie Told Me" stamp set and I used the oval punches as well as the oval coluzzle in the catalogue to cut the larger ovals around the bird. I love the look of the Jumbo eyelets on the card.

There will be a variety of sentiments available in case you need to turn one of them into a birthday/thank you card. I think the card on the left would make a great birthday card for men. There is still a couple of spaces left so e-mail me to sign up. Cost is $30.
Check out my SU website for an updated schedule of my classes in April and May.

"In Colours" Eastern Bloom card

I thought I would use the usually brightly coloured Eastern Blooms set and try making it a bit darker. Turns out I think this colours look good together. In fact now that I have been stamping so long, I am losing my fear of colour. I use to make cards usually with only two different colours, but now it's fun to put a bunch of colours together and find out I actually like them. I am going to have to challange myself more this way.

I just have to say first of all; a big thank you to everyone who came to the new catalogue lauch party yesterday. I had a lot of fun and I hope you all did too! And congratulations to Debbie W who won the door prize.
Today's card is one of the cards we made with the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets (Congrats and Botanical Blooms) yesterday morning. I know Tangerine Tango and Regal Rose probably isn't at the top of everyone's favourite colour combinations but I am loving the orange and pink together.

Happy as Happy Gets...

I'm not a purple person. Not at all. There I said it. Hate me if you will but I find it a really hard colour to work with so I don't usually pull it out when I am looking at colours for a card. I have been working really hard over the past few weeks to make a few things with the colour since the cardstock is acculumating here. I actually think the purple works great with this stamp set and looks nice and "springy" when paired with the Celery.

Happy New Catalogue Day!

This is one of the cards we will be making at my "How Do I Love Thee" class in a few weeks. The class will be all about love and friendship and of course there will be other verse stamps available in case you just need to turn one of the cards into a thank you or birthday card.

This card was made with one of my favourite new stamp sets in the new catalogue, and for the first time EVER it's a hostess set. This stamp set is called Echoes of Kindness and it is a Level 2 stamp set (meaning you need to have a workshop of $395 in order to earn it free) The word cherish makes this card good for a wedding card, anniversary card or even just a "I love you" card.

You Are One of a Kind....

Here is a card I made for my frirned Tara's birthday earlier this month. Now we all know I love these colours together...Chocolate Chip and any pink are "sweeeet" as my daughter would say.

The new catalogue is beautiful, I absolutely love all th enew Sizzix stuff that's in there and there are some fabulous accessories. Unfortunately there are a few price increases (although not on everything...whew!) Some stamp sets went up a few dollars. Mostly the older sets because all the stamp sets in the catalogue are now die cut. No more blisters for me cutting everything when it comes in! Ink pads went up about 70 cents each and a few accessories have went up in price. But overall most of the catalogue is the same price which is awesome.

Supplies to make this card:

  • One of a Kind Stamp Set
  • Sweet Always Designer Paper
  • Vellum
  • Chocolate Chip, Whisper White cardstock
  • Chocolate Chip Taffeta ribbon
  • Versamark Watermark
  • White embossing powder
  • Regal Rose, Prettty in Pink Stampin Write markers
  • Chocolate Chip Classic Ink
  • half pearls (from Pretties Kit)

All of you who ordered this set yesterday will get a card sheet of all the crab and company cards I have made so you can remember all the ones I had on display (you too Tina even though you ordered your last month!) and I might even through in a little baggie of the googly eyes since he is just not complete without the googly eyes!

You're a Hoot!

This little owl set "Owl Together Now" is so cute I might even start to like as much as I like the "Crab and Company" stamp set. Considering that I am usually a "flower" stamper it's been unusual for me to like things like owls and crabs. Maybe it's the googly eye factor. If you can put googly eyes on an image I seem to like it. On this card I actually didn't use googly eyes but used Crystal Effects to make the eyes glossy.

Supplies for this Card:

Owl Together Now stamp set

Bella Rose Designer Paper (Green dots)

Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip Cardstock

Watercolour paper

Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Creamy Caramel Classic Ink

Blender Pen

Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon

Happy New Year

It's that time of year to make New Years resolutions, you know those things we promise to change or do and usually last a week. I'm trying to not make any grand resolutions because there usually isn't a point to it but for this year I hope to:
-Give more to those who need it but make sure I give to myself as well
-Make sure the people in my life know how much they mean to me
-Have more fun!
The last one is most important because I don't make enough time to just have fun! It's goinbg to be a great year and quite frankly I am really happy 2008 is over.
I wish you all a Happy New Year!
