Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder

I am madly in love with the new Perfect Polka Dots Texture folder in the new Occasions mini...so much so I gave my club members homework with it! (If you missed club or just want to try out the homework send me an e-mail if you want info on this months "assignment") This is another example of a card made with the sketch you have to work with.

I love Bermuda Bay and Chocolate Chip together (of course, anyone who knows me, knows I like Chocolate Chip with any colour!) I dyed the large flower from the Pretties kit with an Aqua Painter and a few drops of Bermuda Bay ink refill. This card is finished off with the "You're Too Kind" stamp from the Whimsical Words stamp set (Sale-a-bration), Thoroughly Modern Designer Paper and a Chocolate Chip Corduroy button.

The New Occasions Mini....

Here is a card I made using the new I Heart Hearts stamp set in the new Occasion mini. I also featured the new Scallop trim Border punch, which you can earn free with a $65 purchase (before shipping and tax) I don't use a lot of purple but I really like the classy look of Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum and Perfect Plum together. I finished the card off with a White Taffeta ribbon and the "Love Always" sentiment from the Chit Chat rub ons.

Mary's Thank You cards...

I'm trying to get Mary into the habit of sending thank you cards, especially to people who don't get to see her open her presents and this was what we came up with for her Christmas card thank you cards. I did the cutting and gluing, sh did the colouring. The Build a Bear stamps are super cute and we have got a lot of use out of them for birthday parties. Mary loves to colour and when I let her use my Stampin Up markers (which happens rarely) she loves it even more.

Vintage Vogue Class....

I just love this stamp set. As soon as I saw it in the Occasions mini I knew I had to have it! Being so in love with it I decided it would be the perfect stamp set to build a class around! The card is just one of the six cards we will be making in my Vintage Vogue class and below is a scan of the whole stamp set since I know most people do not have their Occasions Mini catalogue yet.

Lilac Bloomin Beautiful

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. To be quite honest I am so happy it is over now. It exhausts me. Usually I am loving the after Christmas sales but this year my heart isn't really into it. The only exciting things I bought (exciting to me anyways) were two seasons of Law and Order (I love this show), The Wizard of Oz and 24, Season 7.

Starting soon I will be posting more on my blog...I am busy designing for all the classes and club meetings coming up in the new year.

Season of Joy...

I finally found a few minutes to post something on my much neglected blog this month. The whole month has been filled with me running from one place to another. I saw the perfect t-shirt at the mall that describes me right now "Back to my normal self on the 26th". I'm pretty sure I am scaring my family with my super high strung manic personality right now.

I did my draw this morning from this past weekend's contest and the winner of the brand new Snow Buddies stamp set is Alice L! Congratulation! I will get that to you the next time I see you.

Patterned Pines....

I know I have been neglecting my blog...it's just been so busy but I will try to post a few more things before the end of the year!

This card was made with the Patterned Pines stamp set, Petals a Plenty Texture folder and the Always Artichoke and Brvo Burgundy colours. Another super quick and easy card from my favourite stamp set in the Holiday Mini.

Simple Christmas

This is a super simple Christmas card you can make in literally under 5 minutes. I just stamped the image, layered it, attached the ribbon and clip to the layers and mounted it on a red card with Stampin Dimensionals. I then added three rhinestone brads to the bottom. For a final step I spritzed the card with Frost White shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol.

Simply Scrappin Gift Card Holders

These super cute gift card holders are a similar template to ones we did in my class this past weekend but these are different designs. I was looking through my paper supplies and putting away some Christmas stuff when I realized I still had some of my Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin kit and thought it would be fun to try and use it up before Christmas. I made these this afternoon in just a few minutes. The only other supplies I used were gold brads, Christmas Greetings stamp (Grateful Greetings stamp set), Black Staz On ink, Gold Cord and the Round Tab punch.

Delightful Decorations...again

I have done A LOT of cards this year with Delightful Decorations. I just love the stamp set and the matching punch. It's so easy. The sentiment on this card is from the Sparkly and Bright stamp set in 2009/2010 Idea Book.

Season of Joy - Poinsettia

A nice quick and easy card, with only a bit of cutting, and usuing only one stamp set. I love the colour combination of Ruby Red and Always Artichoke on the Whisper White cardstock.

Lovely as a Tree

Lovely as a Tree is such a versatile stamp set. It's not specifically a Christmas set but the trees look wonderful for a Christmas card. On this card I added the star (from Patterned Pines) and I used the Versamark Marker to add little dots to emboss with gold embossing powder.

Merry and Bright

Delightful Decorations is the must have stamp set in the Holiday Mini. Especially if you get the matching punch which makes the whole set super easy (especially since so many people don’t like to cut their stamped images out.) It's been my go to stamp this year, mostly because I love how it looks with every Christmas designer paper we sell.

Serene Snowflakes Resist...

A simple and elegant snowflake card using a resist technique. What I did was stamp the large snowflake on White Shimmer cardstock with white craft ink and then embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I then put a few drops of Bashful Blue ink refill on a tile and used my aquapainter to paint the image until the entire image was covered, leavin the white snowflake ( ink refills won't dry on embossed area's) A super simple technique but it gives a nice watercolour look to the card.

Christmas Jingle...

Here is a card I made using one of the cardstock stickers from the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrapping kits. Not only is this kit beautiful for scrapping your Christmas photo's it makes some fabulous quick and easy cards for those of you who have put them off until the last minute.

The poinsettia's are from the Petals a Plenty Texture folder (in the Holiday Mini) and I just cut them out.

I was so busy yesterday I completely forgot to post a card! I was running from place to place all day trying to get a bunch of stuff done. I'm actually really surprised that yesterday was the first time I forgot! I think the memory is going.

Season of Joy

Season of Joy is an oldie but a goodie. Year after year I have been making cards that I just love with it. I am going to cry if SU retires this stamp set (ok maybe not cry but I will definitely miss it!)

Not Quite Navy is a colour I have not used a lot for Christmas cards in the past but I just love it with the silver. The silver rub on is perfect for this card especially since you get one sheet of silver and one sheet of white. (I find it hard to emboss on textured cardstock or else I probably would have embossed a sentiment)

Scenic Season....

This is one of the many stamp sets I have bought because someone else has bought it (I am easily influenced!) I just love the simple elegance of the stamp set. To make the trees look snowy, I took clear embossing powder and mixed a bit of white embossing powder into it (about 5 parts clear, 1 part white) After I stamped the trees with Garden Green, I used my Versamark Marker to colour overtop of them and then added the embossing powder.

Warm Winter Wishes

Here is another super cute card made with the Level 3 hostess stamp set The More the Merrier. These snowmen are pretty popular, everyone loves them and they look great in all traditional and non-traditional Christmas colours. This card is more of a "winter" card to me, rather than a Christmas card but change the "warm winter wishes" sentiment to "merry Christmas" and it's a Christmas card!

Bearing Gifts....

This card was made with a cute little image, Bearing Gifts, from the Holiday Mini catalogue. It's really meant to be a tag but when I inked it up I just inked the image and avoided inking the "To:, From:" words. The White rub ons from the Merry and Bright Rub Ons (Holiday Mini) are perfect finishing touch.

Dasher

Dasher is easily the most popular new Christmas stamp this year. I love this stamp so much when he is embossed, especially gold or silver.

I also cannot get enough of the Petals a Plenty textured impressions folder. If I wasn’t trying to show a variety of projects I swear I would use this folder on all the Christmas cards I have done this year. Because it’s in the Holiday Mini be sure to order yours before the mini is done (January 4th!)

Holiday Lineup

While I generally prefer "traditional" holiday colours sometimes it's fun to use some other fun colours in my my Christmas cards. Melon Mambo with the Green Galore really brightens up the card.

Jolliest Time of the Year

I love this Santa stamp but what I really love out of the Jolliest Time of the Year stamp set is the saying. It's my absolute favourite Stampin Up Christmas stamp!

Spotlight on Christmas....

If you have taken any classes with me this past year you know I just love the poinsettia flower in the Spotlight on Christmas stamp set. I especially love how easy it is to punch out with the 5-petal flower punch. I hope Stampin Up never retires it because I just love this stamp.

Delightful Decorations

The new Delightful Decorations stamp set (and matching punch) in the Holiday Mini were a big hit. This is a card I made using the technique Cracked Glass.

The Cracked glass technique is super easy. Just stamp your image on cardstock. Cover the entire piece of cardstock with Versamark Watermark ink (by pressing your ink pad down onto the cardstock) and sprinkle with Glassy glaze embossing Powder (this is chunkier than regular embossing powder) Heat until melted and repeat inking and embossing 3 more times. Put the image in your freezer for 5 minutes and then bend gently to create the cracks in the image.

Simple Serene Snowflakes

This is a super quick and easy card I made with the Serene Snowflakes stamp set. I think everyone needs a good snowflake stamp set at Christmas and this one is simply beautiful. It’s in the Holiday mini so you can only order it until January 4th and then it could be gone for good! (Some items from the mini catalogues do make it into the main catalogue the following year but we never know until we have the next new catalogue in our hands!)

Home for Christmas

I LOVE colouring this stamp set. It's been around for a year but I just got it a few weeks ago and fell in love with it. If you love colouring your images you will love this stamp set too. I find this image looks great on square cards, like this one. It leaves some room for embellishments since the main image is so big. If you are making square cards this year don't forget to get your square envelopes (Page 168 in the catalogue)

Sparkly and Bright is one of the new Christmas stamp sets in this years Idea Book and Catalogue.
