Sale-a-bration's Sweet Summer

Sweet Summer is such a wonderful stamp set and I am sad that it is not part of the regular catalogue and will be gone after today (the end of Sale-a-bration) This card was made with the colours of Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White. The embellishments are Rich Razzleberry brads and a Rich Razzleberry button. The entire flower image was stamped, coloured, and I then pressed a Versamark Watermark ink pad over the whole piece of paper and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

Today is the last day of Sale-a-bration and the last day you can place an order for $60 or more and get free Sale-a-bration items. Click on the link to the right to place your order online today!

Party This Way

The thing I love about this time of year is all the bright colours. I though this stamp set (which I got ages ago and finally pulled out) "Party This Way" was the perfect set for the bright colours used in the Ice Cream Parlour Designer Paper and button pack (from the Sale-a-bration Mini) The colours used on this project are Melon Mambo, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight.

I had a lot of fun at my last class and my next class on April 16th (the Big Shot class) is almost full even though I have yet to show you a sample. I just ordered myself some new dies with a fabulous project in mind so hopefully I can get that posted later this week to entice those of you who are on the fence to sign up.

Simple Friendship....

I though it was about time to post a card using some of my much neglected brown cardstock (Soft Suede on this card) and brown inks. Of course all brown look fabulous with Baja Breeze, my new go to colour lately. Mini pearl jewels and the scallop circle/border punch add the perfect finishing touch to this card.

I usually do my stamping (creating and cutting for classes) while watching tv but there have been so many reruns I have turned to reality tv. I haven't watched Dancing with the Stars since I think the 2nd season but it was awesome last night. I am definitely hooked! So glad I have something new to watch when all the reruns are on!

Thoughts and Prayers

This is a super simple and quick card to make when you need a nice sympathy card right away.

To sponge the center area I first made a mask so that I only sponge a rectangle, leaving a white border. To do this I cut a large post it note the same size as the white cardstock. I then carefully cut a rectangle out of the center with an x-acto knife. I then stick the mask to the white cardstock.

Next I use a Stampin Sponge to sponge the whole inside of the rectangle with So Saffron ink. Once that is covered I use the Sponge with Peach Parfait ink, starting at the bottom and working my way up. Next I did the same thing with Tangerine Tango ink, starting at the bottom to give it that nice gradual look.

I then remove the mask and stamp my images in black. It only takes a minute and the mask you make is reusable for other projects.

My last order of the month is going in the Saturday so be sure to get your orders in before then.

Friends Never Fade...

It's still not quite looking like spring but I am really enjoying pulling out some of my bright colours. I did use some Early Espresso on this card, which oddly has been of my neglected colours lately.

Those of you who hate cutting might not enjoy this card but the cutting makes it so much easier to put together. To colour the flowers I first inked them in Poppy Parade ink and used a sponge dauber to add Early Espresso ink to the centers before stamping.

There are still a few spaces in my Spring card class on March 26th. We will be making 10 cards (5 designs, 2 of each) We will be making a Baby, Easter, Wedding, Mothers Day and another spring card. The class is $30 but Free if you spend $65 that day (Plus you get a Sale-a-bration selection!!!) My last order of Sale-a-bration will be going in that day so be sure to get your order to me before that day if there is anything you would like.

Eat Chocolate

This stamp set is one of my favourite's in the Occasions Mini Catalogue. I especially like it for making little chocolate gifts for Mary's lunch. She loves getting little treats in her lunch box and she's now old enough that she can open these boxes without destroying my hard work!
To make this box I used the Pillow Box die for the Big Shot. I love these little boxes for little treats. The colours I used were Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Earlty Espresso. The Modern Label punch is so pretty. To make a layer for the main image, punch out a second image (Early Espresso on this box) and cut it in half lengthwise. Layer underneath with a little bit sticking out at the top and bottom.

Take a Spin

"Take a Spin" is such a different kind of stamp set. The spinner makes it so much fun. I am absolutely in love with the Birthday image from the set. Every birthday party Mary has to go to from now on will probably get one of these cards, especially since I have a bunch already made!

There is a trick to attaching the spinner. After you attach the spinner and brad is opened on the back of the image you should pull up on the brad at the front of the image just a bit to loosen it up, allowing the spinner hand to spin more freely.

These cards were both made with the Ice Cream Parlour Designer Paper in the Sale-a-bration Mini (which ends March 31st) This is a great paper pack with lots of bright colours so it is perfect for birthdays.

Don't forget to check out my Stampin Up website for my class schedule. There are still a few spots in my Spring Class and I added a new class for April. Click HERE to check it out!

Engraved Greetings

Engraved Greetings is one of the stamp sets I earned FREE last month for spending $60 out of the catalogue. It's hidden in the back, on page 182 but it's such a pretty stamp set. I especially love the Happy Birthday which works great on more masculine birthday cards.

For this card I used Concord Crush and Very Vanilla Colours. The Designer Paper is Lap of Luxury and I finished the card off with a Ticket Corner Punch and Antique Brads.

My next order is going in this Sunday so if there is anything you want, please get your order to me before then!

Ice Cream Parlour

Can you believe it’s March already. Spring is definitely on its way, whether it feels like it today or not! I can hardly wait! I have also found my newest spring addiction; Laura Secord Maple Sugar Candies. These are the soft ones and they are soooo good so if you are in the mall be sure to pick some up (and hide them from me if I visit!) I think I need to get a part time job to keep me well supplied in these candies because they aren’t cheap but so worth it!

Ok, enough about candy, although I am pretty sure I could fill today’s whole post with my love of maple candy. Today’s card is one I made using the Sale-a-bration Ice Cream Parlour and Quick Accents Pack and So Happy for You stamp set. It was so easy to make and I used a colour I don’t pull out very often, Pacific Point. The only embellishment I used was a Daffodil Delight brad.

Sweet Summer

Sweet Summer is such a cute little stamp set and if you love to colour you will have a lot of fun with it. It was the most popular free choice from the Sale-a-bration catalogue this past month, for all of my clubs and classes.

For this card I paired the Sweet Summer stamp set with the butterfly from Bold Blossom (Occasion Mini, page 31) a sentiment from Great Friend (Idea Book and Catalogue, page 122) and Ice Cream Parlour Designer Paper (Sale-a-bration mini, page 7) The colours I used were Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron and Very Vanilla.

Vintage Vogue x 3

Below is the second project we did at Stampers club this month. Again I showed how you can take a super simple card add embellishments etc and give it a totally different look.

Card #1 is super simple. I used the stamp set Vintage Vogue, the colour of Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Whisper White and the only embellishment I used was a Baja Breeze Seam Binding bow.

Card # 2 is dressed up just slightly. First I added a layer to the F in friends by stamping it a second time, cutting it out and attaching it to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. Next I embossed the background using the Framed Tulips embossing folder. Third I added another sentiment from the Vintage Vogue stamp set to the bottom of the card.

For the final card I added two things to finish the card off. First I added a Filgree brad to the center of the bow, something I love to do with bows! And second I added a flower from the Vintage Vogue stamp set (stamped with Not Quite Navy and cut out) which I attached with a Silver brad.

On a Pedestal

Here is yet another birthday card. The best thing about designing for my full "birthday Wishes" class this weekend is that I am getting A LOT of birthday cards done. I think I will have to do another birthday card class in the fall! This card won't be in the class but it's still cute and someone will definitely get this when it's their birthday (that is if I can ever remember to get my cards out on time!)

For this card I used the "On a Pedestal" stamp set and the "Dot, Dot, Dot" stamp (which you can earn Free for Sale-a-bration) The colours I used were Basic Black, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink and Cherry Cobbler. The only embellishment I used was Iridescent Ice embossing powder (which is hard to see in the picture but it is on the black pedestal and the cake!

My next order is going in on Saturday so if there is anything you want be sure to get your order to me before then!

Sweet Summer x 3

Often when I am making a card I go through several stage to make the card exactly what I want. I start out simple, with simple colours and keep adding to it until I think it's perfect. This month at my Stampers Clubs I did a set of projects showing how different a card looks as you add more details/colours/embellishments to a card.

This is a super simple card with limited colours and embellisments. On this card I used:
-Sweet Summer stamp set(which you can earn FREE for spending $60 out of the catalogue)
-So Happy for You Stamp Set (Sale-abration)
-Beautiful Wings embosslits die
-Pretty ink Pink, Very Vanilla cardstock
-Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink
-Pretty in Pink Stampin Write Marker
-Pearl Jewel
For card # 2 I added a few details to make it different (some are hard to see in the scan) First I added a layer of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the pink berries on the background and third I sponged some pretty in pink ink around the butterfly to help it "pop" a bit.
For the third card I added a few more items to make the card a bit more interesting. First I added a small Pink Piroutte mini butterfly to the center of the larger butterfly. Second I added several mini pearl jewels around the background. And third I layered the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border (which was cut in half lengthwise) to add a scallop border to the sentiment.

Sale-a-bration is my favourite time of the year because I just love getting FREE stuff. It's also a great time to host a workshop because you get even more FREE stuff. Contact me (s-pdavid@sympatico.ca ) for more details.
My last order of the month is going in next Saturday so if there is anything you need, please get your order to me before then!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you all are having a great day filled with chocolate! We are now more than half way done with the chocolate holidays (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's) with only Easter to go! Enjoy all the chocolate while you can!
Todays card is a super simple card I made with the Love Impressions Rub Ons in the Occasions Mini. I wanted to make a card with no layers and minimal embellishments (so I only used some Rhinestone Jewels in between the XO's at the bottom) I find it really hard to make a card with no layers at all because I think this card would have been great if the white was layered onto red cardstock but it can be fun to try different things every once in awhile.

Petal Cone Bigz L Die

I just love this die! CeeJay was nice enough to let me use her brand new die and cut a few of these out before she evn got a chance to use it. Now I know it is a must have for me and I am definitely ordering it this month. To finish off this very pretty treat holder I used Springtime Vintage Designer Paper (page 15, Occasions Mini), a Rosette (page 16, Occasions Mini) which was coloured with a Rose Red marker amd Rose Red Seam Binding (page 16, Occasions Mini catalogue) I filled this one with chocolate kisses in a medium Cellophane bag (page 170 in the catalogue) I made this one for CeeJay as a thank you for letting me use her new die.

I am about have a very busy weekend. Mary's birthday party is tomorrow and my house will be over run with screaming girls and Sunday is my club day which should be lots of fun. If you have an order to place I will be placing an order this Sunday, next Saturday (the 19th) and Saturday the 26th.

Take a Spin

I have been spending a lot of time making birthday cards for my Birthday Wishes card class on the 26th. Even though I like a lot of the cards I often go through a process of rejecting cards as I make more because I like the cards to have a variety of stamp sets and colours so the class is more interesting. This is one of the rejects, not that it isn't nice card but I wanted to use colours with this stamp set that are more gender neutral. We will still be using this stamp set at the class but with completely different colours/design.

There are still a couple of spaces left in February 26th class (9:30 am). We will be making 10 cards (2 each of 5 designs). The cost of the class is $30 but if you place a $65 order the day of the class the class is FREE (plus you get a Sale-a-bration item for spending more than $60!)

Springtime Vintage Designer Paper

I just love the Springtime Vintage Designer paper from the Occasions Mini Catalogue! So pretty and springy! Today I paired the paper with one of the sentiments in Word Play (which is a set I am totally in LOVE with!) This card would also look awesome as a wedding card with the “Happy I Do Day” sentiment in Word Play. The little Rosette and Rose Red Seam Binding is on page 16 in the Occasions Mini catalogue.

The 2 3/8 Scallop Circle, which has been unavailable to order but super popular is now available again to order so please contact me to get yours!

Birthday Invitation...

Mary's birthday is coming up soon so every year I make some cute invitations for her party (although this year I tried to convince her that store bought ones could do, she didn't go for it though...LOL!) I used Sunny Garden designer paper and made a cute little purde invitation small enough to fit in a notecard size envelope. The stamp set I used is retired but I am definitely getting the stamp set "Inviting" to use for next year!

This cute little purse design is also going to be used in my Birthday Wishes class on February 26th (details in my January 25th post) only it will be bigger, double as a gift card holder and it will be made with the fabulous Springtime Vintage paper from the Occasions Mini Catalogue. There are still a few spaces left so be sure to e-mail me to sign up (s-pdavid@sympatico.ca )

Aviary

The Aviary set is so cute and I like that it's one of those stamp sets that could be used for almost any kind of card. For this card I paired the stamp set up with a sentiment from another versatile stamp set, So Happy for You from the Sale-a-bration mini catalogue. I also used Elegant Soiree Designer Paper, the co-ordinating colours and Early Espresso brads.

My next order is going in tomorrow so if there is anything you would like please let me know before tomorrow afternoon. Remember that for every $60 you spend you get a free Sale-a-bration selection!
