Sale-a-bration's Sweet Summer

Sweet Summer is such a wonderful stamp set and I am sad that it is not part of the regular catalogue and will be gone after today (the end of Sale-a-bration) This card was made with the colours of Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White. The embellishments are Rich Razzleberry brads and a Rich Razzleberry button. The entire flower image was stamped, coloured, and I then pressed a Versamark Watermark ink pad over the whole piece of paper and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

Today is the last day of Sale-a-bration and the last day you can place an order for $60 or more and get free Sale-a-bration items. Click on the link to the right to place your order online today!

Party This Way

The thing I love about this time of year is all the bright colours. I though this stamp set (which I got ages ago and finally pulled out) "Party This Way" was the perfect set for the bright colours used in the Ice Cream Parlour Designer Paper and button pack (from the Sale-a-bration Mini) The colours used on this project are Melon Mambo, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight.

I had a lot of fun at my last class and my next class on April 16th (the Big Shot class) is almost full even though I have yet to show you a sample. I just ordered myself some new dies with a fabulous project in mind so hopefully I can get that posted later this week to entice those of you who are on the fence to sign up.

Simple Friendship....

I though it was about time to post a card using some of my much neglected brown cardstock (Soft Suede on this card) and brown inks. Of course all brown look fabulous with Baja Breeze, my new go to colour lately. Mini pearl jewels and the scallop circle/border punch add the perfect finishing touch to this card.

I usually do my stamping (creating and cutting for classes) while watching tv but there have been so many reruns I have turned to reality tv. I haven't watched Dancing with the Stars since I think the 2nd season but it was awesome last night. I am definitely hooked! So glad I have something new to watch when all the reruns are on!

Thoughts and Prayers

This is a super simple and quick card to make when you need a nice sympathy card right away.

To sponge the center area I first made a mask so that I only sponge a rectangle, leaving a white border. To do this I cut a large post it note the same size as the white cardstock. I then carefully cut a rectangle out of the center with an x-acto knife. I then stick the mask to the white cardstock.

Next I use a Stampin Sponge to sponge the whole inside of the rectangle with So Saffron ink. Once that is covered I use the Sponge with Peach Parfait ink, starting at the bottom and working my way up. Next I did the same thing with Tangerine Tango ink, starting at the bottom to give it that nice gradual look.

I then remove the mask and stamp my images in black. It only takes a minute and the mask you make is reusable for other projects.

My last order of the month is going in the Saturday so be sure to get your orders in before then.

Friends Never Fade...

It's still not quite looking like spring but I am really enjoying pulling out some of my bright colours. I did use some Early Espresso on this card, which oddly has been of my neglected colours lately.

Those of you who hate cutting might not enjoy this card but the cutting makes it so much easier to put together. To colour the flowers I first inked them in Poppy Parade ink and used a sponge dauber to add Early Espresso ink to the centers before stamping.

There are still a few spaces in my Spring card class on March 26th. We will be making 10 cards (5 designs, 2 of each) We will be making a Baby, Easter, Wedding, Mothers Day and another spring card. The class is $30 but Free if you spend $65 that day (Plus you get a Sale-a-bration selection!!!) My last order of Sale-a-bration will be going in that day so be sure to get your order to me before that day if there is anything you would like.

Eat Chocolate

This stamp set is one of my favourite's in the Occasions Mini Catalogue. I especially like it for making little chocolate gifts for Mary's lunch. She loves getting little treats in her lunch box and she's now old enough that she can open these boxes without destroying my hard work!
To make this box I used the Pillow Box die for the Big Shot. I love these little boxes for little treats. The colours I used were Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Earlty Espresso. The Modern Label punch is so pretty. To make a layer for the main image, punch out a second image (Early Espresso on this box) and cut it in half lengthwise. Layer underneath with a little bit sticking out at the top and bottom.

Take a Spin

"Take a Spin" is such a different kind of stamp set. The spinner makes it so much fun. I am absolutely in love with the Birthday image from the set. Every birthday party Mary has to go to from now on will probably get one of these cards, especially since I have a bunch already made!

There is a trick to attaching the spinner. After you attach the spinner and brad is opened on the back of the image you should pull up on the brad at the front of the image just a bit to loosen it up, allowing the spinner hand to spin more freely.

These cards were both made with the Ice Cream Parlour Designer Paper in the Sale-a-bration Mini (which ends March 31st) This is a great paper pack with lots of bright colours so it is perfect for birthdays.

Don't forget to check out my Stampin Up website for my class schedule. There are still a few spots in my Spring Class and I added a new class for April. Click HERE to check it out!

Engraved Greetings

Engraved Greetings is one of the stamp sets I earned FREE last month for spending $60 out of the catalogue. It's hidden in the back, on page 182 but it's such a pretty stamp set. I especially love the Happy Birthday which works great on more masculine birthday cards.

For this card I used Concord Crush and Very Vanilla Colours. The Designer Paper is Lap of Luxury and I finished the card off with a Ticket Corner Punch and Antique Brads.

My next order is going in this Sunday so if there is anything you want, please get your order to me before then!

Ice Cream Parlour

Can you believe it’s March already. Spring is definitely on its way, whether it feels like it today or not! I can hardly wait! I have also found my newest spring addiction; Laura Secord Maple Sugar Candies. These are the soft ones and they are soooo good so if you are in the mall be sure to pick some up (and hide them from me if I visit!) I think I need to get a part time job to keep me well supplied in these candies because they aren’t cheap but so worth it!

Ok, enough about candy, although I am pretty sure I could fill today’s whole post with my love of maple candy. Today’s card is one I made using the Sale-a-bration Ice Cream Parlour and Quick Accents Pack and So Happy for You stamp set. It was so easy to make and I used a colour I don’t pull out very often, Pacific Point. The only embellishment I used was a Daffodil Delight brad.
