Eastern Blooms....

I love totally neutral cards and here is one using Naturals Cardstock, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand. The stamp sets I used were Eastern Blooms (for the flowers) and On Your Birthday (for one of my absolutely favourite birthday sentiment stamps)

Tomorrow the new Summer Mini begins and I hope you all received yours in your mailbox. I absolutely love so many things, I can't wait to show you in my clubs and classes this month. If you don't have your mini let me know by next Friday and I will get one to you!

Watch my blog this coming week for details on my annual Retirement contest as well as details for my June class. Don't forget to keep July 3rd booked for my new catalogue party. It's a must be there event!

Happy B-day Simply Scrappin Kit

Everyone who knows me, knows I don't do a lot of scrapbooking (I wish I had the time!) but the Simply Scrappin kits in the catalogue are absolutely great for things besides scrapbooking. I know the Happy B-day kit has helped me make a lot of birthday cards. The paper is cute and bright and I love the textured cardstock that comes with the kits. Of course if you are a scrapbooker you can find many many uses for the kits. I also have the Christmas Jingle kit and it made a lot of cute and quick cards last Christmas.

The blackflies are now out here so I am in hibernation mode. It was such a nice spring until the made their appearance. So remember if you are coming to my house for a class you need to run from your car to my house. It's a great way to get the blood pumping!

Season of Friendship....

Everyone knows my love for cutting things out so of course when I stamp with my Season of Friendship stamp set I have to cut the flowers out, rather than stamp them directly on my card. For this card I used the colours of Creamy Caramel, Barely Banana and Certainly Celery. The Butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits and the half pearl is from the Pretties kit. To make the pearlized centers on the flower I just put a drop of Frost White shimmer paint.

My Satin Ribbon share is now full. I will do another ribbon share of some kind in July when the new catalogue and new ribbons and colours come out!

My next order is going in this Friday if there is anything you need out of the Occasions Mini.
Please be sure to check your inkpads to get your ink refills and cardstock of retiring colours before the end of May. Also be sure to vote in my "Retired colours you will miss" poll to the right. So far the best selling colours that people are stalking up on are:

1. Mellow Moss
2. Taken with Teal
3. Barely Banana

Trendy Trees with sponging....

Yet another Trendy Trees card, I love this little stamp set! For this card I cut a piece of computer paper with the rotary cutter on my cutter kit and I used it to mask the sky portion. I then sponged on Mellow Moss ink to create a hill. I stamped and cut the trees out and then added them to the card. Also used on this card is the Modern Label Punch, Sizzix Punch Windows and the Texture Jumbo Wheel.

Trendy Trees in Eggplant...

While I am not a purple person, Elegant Eggplant has really grown on my the past few months. I am really glad the colour is sticking around. This card also features Perfect Plum (staying) and Pale Plum (going). Don't forget to get your retiring ink refills or cardstock before the end of May. As of June 1st the retiring colours will only be available while supplies last. See more about the retiring colours HERE.

There is still room in my Satin Ribbon Share. The one question I have received is "what if I love a colour and want more?" The Satin Ribbon is also in the new Summer Mini starting May 1st so it will be around for a while. For more details on the ribbon share check the next post!

My next order will be going in on Friday April 30th. If there is anything you want out of the Occasion Mini catalogue or you want to take advantage of this months sale (including the super cute Trendy Trees featured in this card) you need to do it before the end of the month. Click HERE to see the post about this months stamp set sale.

Satin Ribbon Share.....

I've had a few requests for what is called a "Ribbon Share". Most people don't need 15 yards of ribbon but many people would like a few yards of each colour so hence the ribbon share.

For $19.76 (including shipping and tax) you will get 2 yards (6 feet) of each of the 9 colours (Basic Black, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Basic Gray) of Satin ribbon pictured on page 27 of the Occasions mini. Sign up and payment deadline is Friday April 30th. Sign up more than once to get all the ribbon you need.

***The first group will fill up at 7 people. If I have enough for a second group I will do one. There are still a few spaces left in the first group.

My card was made using Certainly Celery Satin ribbon, Bloomin Beautiful and Sincere Salutations stamp sets. The candle holder (from the dollar store) was made with Autumn Harvest Rub-Ons.

Mother's Day cards.....

Mother's Day is coming up in about three weeks so now is the time to sit down and make some beautiful cards for the mothers in your life. This was a quick one I made using the Sending Love specialty Designer Paper in the Occasion Mini. I also used Teeny Tiny Wishes and the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. The Scallop Trim Border Punch is from Sale-a-bration but it will be in the new catalogue coming out in July.

The Occasions Mini and the Two Step stampin sale are both ending on April 30th so be sure to get your orders in before the end of the month if there is something you want!

Upsy daisy....

This card was sort of inspired by a tissue box I saw at the store a few weeks ago, at least the colour combination was. I saw a box that had Red and what looked like Razzleberry flowers all over it and while I thought it was an odd colour combination, it looked great. So on this card I thought I would use those colours and this is what I eventually came up with. For the flowers I coloured the stamp directly with Real Red, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Markers before stamping.

My next order is going in this Staurday the 17th. If there is anything you want please be sure to contact me before then. Don't forget to check out my April 6th post and the list of retiring colours. If any of those colours are your favourite be sure to order you ink refills, cardstock, ribbon etc before June.

Vintage Vogue with Crushed Curry...

While Crushed Curry has been probably my least favourite In Colour over the past few years I have now been experiencing a sort of infatuation with it. I used it for all my Stampers Club projects this month with Barely Banana and now I am just in love with the way it looks with Soft Suede. Of course using it with my favourite stamp set, Vintage Vogue, made it much easier to love.

Stampers clubs will be ending soon and starting up again in September. I will start taking sign ups for next years clubs at my New Catalogue party on July 3rd. If you spend $25 on Stampin Up a month you will want to join a club to get free projects, discounted classes and best of all LOTS OF FUN!

I have added an extra May Flowers class since I had overwhelming interest in it. If this is a class you wanted to take but couldn't attend on Saturday May 15th, I will be having a second class on Wednesday May 12th at 10am.

May Flowers Card Class

We will be making 10 cards (5 designs, 2 of each design) with 5 different flower stamp sets.

When: Wednesday May 12th, 10 a.m.

Where: My Place

Cost: $30

Sweet Pea Felt....

I finally broke down and bought the Sweet Pea Felt after seeing a bunch of people buy it and I just love how super cute it is on a card. Now this card took no time at all to put together, the only stamped image is the Happy Mother's Day from the All Holidays stamp set. The embossed paper is made with the Big Shot and the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder.

Just as a heads up, mark Saturday July 3rd as on your calendars for my New Catalogue Extravaganza this year! The new catalogue will be available for you to pick up, there will be door prizes and lots of great specials on new catalogue products as well as free make and takes. There will also be my stamp sale auction where you can save lots of money on the stamps and accessories that will be retired. You don't want to miss out so plan to be here.

Just so you know, those of you who have a sympatico/bell or hotmail account are not receiving any e-mail from me, and I am not receiving e-mail from you at my sympatico account ( or at least it's very hit and miss). I will be using my other e-mail stephanie_adc@yahoo.ca to send you e-mails and if you want to get ahold of me it's probably best if you call or use the yahoo e-mail address. All other servers seem to have no problem with my sympatico address.

Beautiful Wings....

The Beautiful Wings embosslits die has been so popular I thought I should probably post a card on my blog made with it. I made this one with Barely Banana, Almost Amethys ad Pretty in Pink cardstock. I made it awhile ago but I am pretty sure it was inspried by a card I either saw I saw in a magazine or saw online but it was awhile ago.
After I cut the butterflies I used a sponged dauber to put ink on the edges and the embossed area's of the butterfly. The centers are embellished with samll clear rhinestones and the "wonderful mother" stamp is from the Well Scripted stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalogue (ending April 30th)

Colour Renovation.....

There are a lot of exciting big changes coming up at Stampin Up and I thought I would give you all a heads up before your club meetings or before you place any orders this month. With the next new catalogue (starting in July) Stampin Up is changing their colour families. There are some fabulous new colours coming, past in-colours returning (you have no idea how many people have been asking for this) and of course some current colours staying. Soft Suede, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry are staying (I’m so happy about this!) The new colour line is really super beautiful but with this change it means a lot of colours are going to be retiring.

If you love a colour that is retiring now is the time to get you Classic and Craft ink refills, as well as cardstock and embellishments before they are gone for good. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me!

Vintage Vogue....

Vintage Vogue is my absolute favourite stamp set in the Occasions Mini (ending on April 30th but this stamp set WILL be in the next catalogue). I haven't been posting many cards with it because all of the cards I have made with it so far will be in my Vintage Vogue class (details in my March 26th post) and I keep those cards off my blog and website.
The class had to be resceduled due to me being sick so I promised everyone a bonus card so I though I would post it on my blog so everyone can see why this set is soooooo pretty! This class contains a lot of cutting, but I will be stamping and cutting some of the flowers ahead of time so you all don't leave here with cramped hands!
