Cards For Men....

Making cards for the men in our lives is a real challenge for most of us stampers since a lot of us like to use glitter, flower stamps and girly colours on cards.

This card class will give you a bunch of cards that you can use throughout the year, saving you time and letting you focus on the cute cards you all make. We will be making 10 “masculine” cards, 5 designs, 2 of each design. The class is on Sunday June 7th at 1pm. The cost is $25.

There is still room so e-mail me if you would like to sign up.

For every class you take in May and June, you will receive a ballot to win a brand new Full of Life stamp set (pictured on my blog, April 16th post)

Playful Petals....

I have been having some fun playing with the Playful Petals stamp sets, its so much fun to colour. This flower was coloured with Almost Amethyst and Lavender Lace Stampin Write markers. The leaves were coloured with certainly Celery. The card is finished off with Tea Party Designer Paper, a scallop edge punch and the Just For you stamp from the Oval All stamp set in the Mini catalogue. Because we have no amethyst ribbon I dyed the white grosgrain using an Almost Amethyst ink refill (just a few drops) and my Aquapainter.

Congratulations to Anne who wins the Note of Thanks Mini Note kit. I will be dropping that off the next chance I get. Be sure to keep watching for more freebies.

You Only Live Once...

I love this little saying from the Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set (the flower is from that stamp set as well) It's perfect for almost any occassion. Thi scard was mostly made with Baja Breeze, a colour I am really going to miss. In fact this years colours are really fantastic and I am going to miss them all when they are gone at the end of June. But the new "In Colours" should be revealed soon and I am sure I will fall in love with them as well. Be sure to vote in My "In Colour poll. I would love to know which colours you will miss.

On this card:

  • Baja Breeze cardstock (soon to be retired)
  • Whisper White Cardstock

  • Baja Breeze ink refill (soon to be retired)
  • Blender Pen
  • Clear Microbeads
  • Crystal Effects
  • White Grosgrain
  • Ticket Corner Punch
  • Walk in the Park Designer Paper

2 Sweet Simply Scrappin Kit

This cute little box is something I totally copied, which I don't do very often but it was too cute to resist. It was on the cover of Stampin Success, a magazine all Stampin Up demonstrators get, and I just fell in love with it so I had to buy the 2 Sweet Simply Scrappin kit (page 165) right away. The funny thing was, when I saw this box and scrapbook page I thought they were giving us a preview out of the new catalogue not realizing we had this super cute stuff all along. It's so true that sometimes you don't notice how awesome something is until you see something made with it. I will post the scrapbook page I copied later this month! I love this Scrappin kit so much I am offering 20% off if you order before May 24th! Regular price $23.95, sale price is $19.16 (plus shipping and tax)

I did a draw this morning and Christine Can. won (I had to write part of her last name since I have two Christine C's!) Congratulations and I will drop the Designer Prints off the next chance I get. Don't forget to keep checking back here because I still have lots of goodies I plan to giveaway!

Also don't forget about my Retiring Stamp Set contest. I only have 2 entries so far so their chances to win are pretty good right now. All the details are in my May 12th post!

Playful Petals...

This is a card I made this morning using the Playful Petals and Full of Life (on the dormant list, still available to order even though it is not pictured in the Spring Summer Catalogue) and Tea Party Designer Series Paper. The flowers are embossed with white embossing powder and the "Life Is.." stamp is stamped with Basic Gray. I used Regal Rose wide grosgrain ribbon and silver eyelets to finish off the card.

Post a comment under this post (click on the title, "Playful Petals" to post a comment) and I will do a draw on Wednesday May 20th, 8am, for one person to win the Patterns Pack Designer Series Paper II (pictured on page 18 in the Spring Summer Catalogue) This is a 6 x6 pad of Patterns Designer Series Paper in Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Brocade Blue, Basic Gray and Garden Green. It includes 60 sheets, 2 each of 6 double-sided designs. This contest is only open to my current customers and only comments posted under this post will count as an entry, no e-mails please.

Your comments will not be posted until after I moderate them (I know what kind of stuff you would all post on here if I let you...LOL!)

Red Bloomin Beautiful

Bloomin Beautiful...again. I hope you all aren't getting bored! I will work hard to post some other stuff but the flower in this stamp set is just so gorgeous and lots of fun to colour! The colours I used on this card are Whisper White Real Red, Summer Sun and Certainly Celery. The bee stamp and the Red Gingham ribbon add the perfect touch!
There is still room left in my Spring Fling Class. I will be doing a draw to give away all five of my class samples! 5 people will leave with one extra project. See all the details for the class on my May 8th post!

Retirement List Contest

Ok this is your chance to predict the future and win a great prize.
As many of you know on June 1st Stampin Up will announce it's retirement list. This is a list of stamp sets that will not make it into the new catalogue starting on July 1st (although this stamp sets will be available until June 30th)
E-mail me a list of 25 stamp sets in the Spring Summer catalogue that you think will retire with the words "Retirement Contest" in the subject line. The person with the most right will win a $25 gift certificate! All e-mail entries must be in to me by May 30th at 5pm and this contest is only open to my current customers. I will confirm when I receive your e-mail. The person with the most right will win! I will announce the winner on my blog on June 1st!
Happy guessing!

Live Love and Laugh...

I thought I would post a card with gold embossing for a change. I'm not a big "embosser" but I do love the look of it when I do pull out my heat tool. This card was made with the Forever Flowers wheel and the Live, Laugh & Love stamp in the It's Your Birthday stamp set. Both were stamped with Versamark watermark and embossed with gold. The colouring on the Forever Flowers was done with a Ruby Red and Mellow Moss Stampin Write Markers.
I think this card layout and colourse would look great re-done with Christmas stamps, something I am sure to do later this year once we know which stamps are staying and which are going!
Congratulations to Irene L who won the Regal Rose Craft ink pad and ink refill. I will give them to her the next time I see her. Be sure to be paying attention to my blog to see my next giveaway!

Bloomin Beautiful yet again! Club Card

Another card we did at our club meeting two weeks ago. Of course I used my new favourite stamp set, Bloomin Beautiful! On this card I used the Top Note die with some Walk in the Park Designer Paper (which you could get FREE if you purchase three other designer papers this month!) The poppies are coloured with Ruby Red and Cameo Coral Stampin Write markers and a Blender Pen with Kiwi Kiss ink. The black brads, ribbon and card base make everything pop!
Ok we are going to try this give-a-away again. This time just send me an e-mail to enter you into the contest to win a free Regal Rose Craft ink pad and ink refill. I think my e-mail is working again since I am now receiving junk e-mail and this will be a great way to test it. Just put Regal Rose Craft ink pad in the subject line. You have until tomorrow night to send me an e-mail and I will do a draw Tuesday morning. I will send a quick response to you when I get your e-mail so if you don't hear from me, try again.

Spring Fling Class...

Here is a little preview of my Spring Fling Class on Sunday May 24th at my place. Pictured are three of the items we will be making: a picture frame, a sunflower box and a notecard box (with 5 notecards). We will also be making a stamped candle (not the candle itself) and a notecard kit
in a tin. Please call to sign up for this class as my e-mail is onthe fritz and I haven't received any since the weekend. Don't forget that for every class you take in May and June gets you a ballot to win a brand new Full of Life stamp set (pictured in my April 16th posting)! Cost for this class is $25.
Because my e-mail is not working I am holding on my draw for the Regal Rose Craft ink pad and ink refill. Once my e-mail is working I will re-issue that draw, those of you who e-mailed me will be entered.

Club Card - Great Friend and Oval All...

This is one of the cards we did at our April club meeting using a technique called Faux silk (it basically gived the look of raw silk when you see it in person!) I used the Great friends and Oval All stamp sets from the Occasions mini catalogue. The ink colours we used were Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette. The patterned paper is from Bella Rose (am I going to miss this paper or what. I hope they save the design and just change the colours in the new catalogue this summer!) We also used a corner ticket punch and the new scallop oval punch in the Occasions mini.

Nursery Necessities Sailboat card

Such a cute little baby card! Nursery Necessities makes the best cards for babie and I am sure it would be great in a scrapbook as well. For this card I used Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Barely Banana cardstock and inks. The silver eyelet, pink tafetta ribbon and scallop edge finish off this card perfectly.
In the spirit of pink I am giving away a Regal Rose craft ink pad and ink refill to one of you who post a comment on todays card. I will do a draw on May 8th. I will post the winner then. If there is only one comment you of course win! You must be a currant customer of mine to win. If you are posting with a fancy code name please drop me an e-mail so I know who you are!

Wonderful Watercolours

As soon as I saw this stamp set in the catalogue I knew this was a must have for me, daisies are my absolute favourite flowers (followed by tulips and daffodils in case you were wondering) It's a two step stamping set, which means there is an outline image and a solid image and the stamp set has a bit of a learning curve to use. Unless of course you already own a Stamp-a-ma-jig, which makes stamping this card a breeze. To make this card I used Certainly Celery, Barley Banana and Apricot Appeal which look very fresh and "springy" to me. I also used the Eyelet Border punch as well as Basic Gray Classic ink for the sentiment.
