Falling Leaves....

I love this set! It caught my eye right away when the new catalogue came out! This card was made with Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla cardstock/Classic Inks. I used the Bright Blessing Jumbo Wheel along the bottom of the card that co-ordinates perfectly with the Falling Leaves stamp set. For embellishments I used Chocolate Chip grosgrain, Linen Thread, Antique Brass eyelets and the Photo Corner Punch.
On another note can you believe how cold it is today! I guess we should be glad it's sunny so it might warm up a bit. There was ice on my windshield....in August. Crazy stuff!

Nursery Necessities

This is a cute little baby card I made with the wonderfully adorable Nursery Necessities stamp set. The Barely Banana and Pretty in Pink colours just scream baby girl but the Pretty in Pink could easily be replaced with Bashful Blue for a boy. What really gives this card that cozy baby feeling is the textured background made with the Sizzix Big Shot.

Well I made it home safe and sound from PEI yesterday. We left half a day early because of Bill and there was no way I was going over the Confederation Bridge if it was going to be really windy! I miss it already and can't wait to go back next summer!

Delightful Decorations Class

I finally updated my class schedule on my Stampin Up Website past September and this is the first class coming up in October. I absolutely fell in love with this stamp set when I saw it in the new Holiday Mini catalogue you should all be receiving any day in the next week. I think one of the best things about it is the matching punch, rubons (not pictured) and jumbo wheel (not pictured) Of course I am sure you will all love the punch because although I love cutting things out I know a lot of you don't!

Happy B-Day Simply Scrappin Kit...

and you thought Scrappin kits were just for scrapbookers! I love these kits for making cards! The kit is filled with lots of fun things. 2 different designer papers (3 sheets each), 4 different colours of textured cardstock (2 each) and three different self adhesive dies cuts (2 sheets each)

I fell in love with the cards on page 167 in the catalogue so I just knew I had to have this kit to play with. The bottom two cards pictured here are slightly different copies of the cards on page 167 in the catalogue.

Cottage Wall

I am just in love with the new Cottage Wall Designer Paper in the new catalogue because I just love the colour combination (Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence) The butterfly was made with the Big Shot and the Stampin Up Beautiful Butterflies Die (the middle "white" layer is covered in Dazzling Diamonds glitter but that is hard to see in this picture. The "You're a Friend" stamp is from the Great Friend stamp set.

Baroque Motifs

Baroque Motfis is definitely one of the most popular stamp sets in the catalogue and I just love the elegant feel it gives to all the cards I make with it. This is a card I made for a wedding a few months ago and love all the soft colours together (Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss and Very Vanilla). This card was inspired by a card I saw online, quite a while ago so I can't take full credit for designing it.

One of my favourite techniques, that I learned recently, is is crushing the jumbo eyelets (with a Crop-a-Dile) and just attaching to your card by looping and tying ribbon through them. It is so much easier than punching a hole and setting the eyelet because this way you can put the eyelet anywhere. Plus it makes the ribbon easier to tie which I know many of you appreciate.

Supplies used to make this card:
  • Baroque Motifs stamp set
  • Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla cardstock
  • Mellow Moss Classic Ink
  • Pretty in Pink Stampin Write Marker (for colouring flowers)
  • Pretties Kit (flowers)
  • Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla Taffeta
  • Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelet

Cheap Talk

Birds have been very popular with Stampin Up over the last year so it's been almost impossible for me to avoid them (not that I'd want to but I'm more of a butterfly fan if I had to pick a "winged" thing to stamp!) This little bird is so cute and I just love all the sentiments that come in the Cheap Talk stamp set.

There is just one space left in my "It's Your Birthday" class on September 13th. Be sure to e-mail me if you would like it.

Supplies on this card:
  • Cheap Talk stamp set
  • Polka Dot Background stamp set
  • Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla cardstock
  • Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Close to Cocoa Classic Inks
  • Black Staz On
  • White Tafetta ribbon
  • Not Quite Navy Brads
  • Photo Corners Punch

Happy Bird-Day...

This cute card (3 1/4 x 6 1/2 size) features the ever so cute bird from the Pun Fun stamp set. I don't usually use a lot of bright colours on my cards, especially six different ones on one card but the Bold Brights look so good together (I used the textured cardstock in Green Galore, Lovely Lilac, Only Orange, Tempting Turquoise and Brilliant Blue) The Bold Bright brads were the perfect finishing touch. I coloured the bird with a Yoyo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore Stampin Write markers. I used a blender pen with the Yoyo Yellow marker to create the softer yellow in the center of the bird.

I will be placing an order later this week so if there is anything you would like to order let me know by tomorrow, Tuesday.

Flight of the Butterfly - Distressed!

Sometimes I love to "distress" designer paper. This pumpkin pie paper is from the Razzleberry Lemonade collection and already has a slight distressed look to it. I dampened a sanding block (page 188) and sanded the corners of the paper to reveal a bit of the white core. I glued this piece to an Apricot Appeal card and pierced all around the card using Stampin Up's piercing guide.

Supplies used on this card:
  • Flight of the Butterfly stamp set
  • Whisper White, Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie cardstock
  • Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper
  • Apricot Appeal buttons
  • Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink
  • Staz On Black ink
  • Piercing Guide
  • Sanding blocks
  • Butterfly Punch

Bermuda Bay....

This card was made in with one of the new In Colours for this year, Bermuda Bay. I have barely used it on anything this year so I thought it was time to make a card with it. The Designer Paper is Thoroughly Modern, which appears to be super bright when you first look at it in the catalogue but once I took the time to look at each side of the patterns on their own, I fell in love with it! The stamp set is from one of my most used stamp sets in the catalogue, On Your Birthday. I just love the sentiment on this card. I finished the card with Chocolate Chip grosgrain and Antique Brass eyelets.

Owl Together Now....

is such a cute stamp set! I have made many different cards using many different colours with this stamp set but one thing always stays the same....the GOOGLY EYES! I love these little eyes on the owl. The card never looks finished until I glue them on.

We're going to be staying with some friends in about a week so I made this card for them to go with the maple syrup gift we are bringing.

  • Chocolate Chip Textured Cardstock
  • Old Olive cardstock
  • Watercolour paper
  • Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, More Mustard Stampin Write Markers

Leaf Lines card....

This is one of the cards I made using the new Leaf Lines stamp set (and Fifth Avenue Floral for the verse) from the new catalogue. It was one of many stamp sets in the new catalogue that caught my eye as a MUST HAVE! I used Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive on this card, colouring the leaves with Classic Inks and a blender pen.

What I really love about this card is the textured background I made with the Big Shot and the Sizzix Stampin Up Perfect Details Texturz plate! I then pierced it to give it a totally different look!

Totally off topic, we had a Garage sale this morning at my parents and although we got rid of lots of stuff we still have lots of DVD's left (obviously we buy too many...lol!) Mary is saving her money for a DSI so if anyone is interested please let me know! We were selling them for $5 but I will sell them for $4 each or 3 for $10. Please e-mail me and let me know!

Some words of advice:

When you are outside drinking your coffee in your Timmies travel mug be sure to look at the mug before you take a drink. Because I failed to do this I now have several ant bites on my lip and tongue. Nothing like a mouth full of ants to teach you this very valuable lesson. Plus me spitting and trying to scrape the ants out of my mouth with my shirt probably scared off some garage sale shoppers!
