My "Last Chance" guesses!

Today's card was a quick and bright little card made with the Party Heart stamp set and the "2 Daisies Sizzix die. It was embellished with the Spiral Punch and Pink Flamingo Designer Paper.

Tomorrow the retirement list comes out and we get to see all the stamp sets and accessories that will not be in the next catalogue (starting July 1st!) I will e-mail everyone on my e-mail list a PDF of the the retiring stamp sets and a PDF of the retiring accessories. If there is a stamp set on you want they will be available for purchase until the end of June as Stampin Up makes it's own stamps. If there is an accessory (Designer Paper, Punches, Sizzix dies etc) you would like those are only available while supplies last.

All A Flutter...

I love butterfly stamps so of course when I saw All A Flutter in the back of the summer mini I knew I had to have it right away. Of course I stamped it and cut the butterflies out, which is hard to tell on this card. You all know how I love to cut!

I paired it with the Inspired by Nature stamp set to make this card. I used Dusty Durango, Old Olive and Crushed Curry colours and I embellished with a black gingham ribbon and gold eyelet.

Don't forget to get your entries in for the Last Chance contest. Entries are due tomorrow before 5pm. I will not accept any entries past 5, sorry! Be sure to include the page #, catalogue # and description of 25 stamp sets you think will not make it into the next catalogue. It's a get prize so take a few minutes to send me your list. The person with the most right wins. I will post my guesses on Monday!

Circle Circus

I saw a similar card (different colours) to this in my Stampin Success (a demonstrators magazine) and I just loved it. I especially loved it because I bought the Circle Circus stamp set a year ago and have not made a single card with it until now!

For this card I used Soft Suede, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery. The Thank You sentiment in the middle is from the Wow Flowers stamp set.

If you are in one of my stampers clubs, or thinking about joining check out my new Stampers Club Blog HERE. Right now it is open to everyone but in the fall when new clubs begin it will only be open to club members. Right now I have the May stampers club projects posted as well as their supply list.

Medallion stamp....

The Medallion stamp is so beautiful it really doesn't need a lot to make it look great. On this card I added some Daisies (from the Daisies #2 Sizzix die), a Filigree Designer Brad and the "My Dear Kind and Wonderful Friend" sentiment stamp from All Holidays. The only colours I used were Certainly Celery, Basic Gray And Whisper White.

Don't forget to enter my Retiring Stamp set guessing contest. The deadline is in a few days. Also don't forget to sign up for The Last Hurrah card class. All the details are in previous blog posts in May.

My next order is going in this Sunday. If there is anything you would like to add to it please get your order to me before then!

Look Who's Turning...

I don't have this stamp set but I borrowed it from a friend because I think it's so super cute and wanted to test it out. Now it's on my ever so long wishlist of stamp sets to get. Of course that list is going to get longer in about a month when the new catalogue comes out (don't forget to RSVP for my New Catalogue Extravaganza if you want a new catalogue and want to do the free make and takes)

This card was done in Tempting Turquoise and Brilliant Blue and the Designer Paper is from Pink Flamingo Designer Paper.

Barely Banana Elements of Style

This flower image in the Elements of Style stamp set is quickly becoming a favourite of mine. I just love colouring it and no matter what colours you choose it turns out looking simpley elegant. Lately I have been a big fan of lots of white space on my cards. I like how striking any colour looks when there is alot of white.

On this card I coloured the flowers with Barely Banana and Apricot Appeal marker (retiring soon) and the leaves with Certainly Celery. I used Perfect Polka Dots embossing Folder for the background and embellished with Whisper White Organza ribbon and Filigree Designer Brads (free this month if you purchase the Elements of Style stamp set)

Think Happy Thoughts

I'm going to really miss Bermuda Bay, mostly because I really love the way it looks with Soft Suede (which is staying as a new Core Colour! Yippee!) This was a very quick and easy card because I just used scraps I had left from the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper and one stamp set, Think Happy Thoughts. A few punches, add a ribbon and voila, the card is done.
Don't forget to enter my Last Chance Contest (details in my May 4th Blog Post) It's a super easy contest because all you have to do is guess which stamp sets won't be around in the new catalogue.

First Day..

When I first saw the First Day stamp set I just skipped right over it thinking it wasn't for me. The more I looked through the Summer Mini it kept catching my eye and I was thinking of many ways I could use this stamp set, especially since the little worm is so cute! I was thinking bookmarks, book labels and even a scrapbook page. The little frame on Page 25 in the Summer Mini is cute too. Not to mention that this would be a great set to make something for your kids teacher at the end of the year.

This card is a book label holder and inside the pocket is little book labels that I stamped on computer labels to make it easy to peel and stick inside a book. Below is a picture of what the label itself looks like when you pull it out of the pocket.

Watercolor Trio in Amethyst

Here is another card made with my favourite stamp set in the new Summer Mini, Watercolor Trio. On this card I used soft colours like Almost Amethyst and Certainly Celery. I also used the Square Lattice embossing folder from the mini, which is now a new favourite of mine. I just love the texture it gives to the card.

I now have space in my Wedenesday May Flowers card class . If you would like to jump into this class let me know. It's a beautiful class!

May Flowers Card Class
We will be making 10 cards (5 designs, 2 of each design) with 5 different flower stamp sets.

Cardstock issues

Just a note that there have been some problems with retiring cardstock. Unfortunately Stampin Up has already begun to run out of some of the colours. There are a few colours in the 8 ½ by 11 size that are selling out already and they were not expecting that. If there is cardstock you really really want please get it to me ASAP. What SU will be doing is substituting smooth cardstock for textured (if the smooth is sold out) until that is depleted. 12 x 12 is also a safer bet right now.

If there is a cardstock in a retiring colour (to see a list of retiring colours click HERE)that you desperately want you please get that order to me ASAP. I will be placing an order tomorrow night if anyone would like to add to it. Please e-mail me your order and call me with your CC#. I will be charging NO shipping charge on this order tomorrow night. If you have any question please e-mail me or call me this evening.

Here is a bit of what SU has posted for demonstrators.

From Stampin Up:
With our recent Colour Renovation announcement, we have experienced a spike--much greater than anticipated--in demand for some of our retiring colours. You may have noticed in the backorder report that a significant number of colours in both card stock and re-inkers have gone into backorder status, and we recognize the frustration this may have caused you.

You may be asking yourself: didn't Stampin' Up! anticipate increased demand on retiring colours? The quick answer is yes, we did. The long answer is a bit more complicated. We based our forecasts for these retiring colours on historical sales information for previous colour transitions, as well as current buying behaviors. Obviously, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone--including you in your own business and personal purchases!

For re-inkers in retiring colours, as we run out, they will be placed on backorder status and those orders will be filled as quickly as we receive the product. We will continue to do this to the best of our ability through May, and then the re-inkers will be available while supplies last in June.

Card stock presents a bit larger problem, as the process of ordering and producing new paper from the paper mills is very involved, and we can't order significant quantities at this point in time without putting the production of the new colours in jeopardy (and we know you want those!). To help us be able to provide you with the card stock in the retiring colours for as long as possible, we will be substituting textured paper for some of the smooth colours--including card stock in 8-1/2 x 11 as well as 12 x 12--where the smooth is no longer available. You will notice these colours go on backorder, and we will be filling as many of those as possible with textured card stock. Because the demand for each colour varies, we are unable to provide a list of what colours of card stock will be substituted with textured, or at what point that will happen. However, if you receive a package of card stock that is textured instead of smooth, there will be a sticker on the package indicating that change. There will be no change in item code or price for these substitutions.

To the left is my Mother's Day card for my mom. I used a flowers from the Pretties kit, the sentiment from All Holidays stamp set and paper from Pawsitively Prints Designer Paper(part of the Build A Bear line, listed on page 30 of the Summer Mini but pictured in the Holiday Mini)

Elements of Style

Elements of Style is such a beautiful stamp set! I am really having a lot of fun colouring the flowers so if you love to colour you will love this stamp set. On this card I coloured the image with Rose Red, Regal Rose and Old Olive Stampin Write Markers. This image also looks great using a blender pen and inks, Watercolor pencil crayons and the Watercolor crayons.

Click HERE to check out Stampin Up's designer brad special. Purchase certain stamp sets and get a free pack of Designer brads (I especially love the Filigree ones!)

Watercolor Trio

As soon as I saw Watercolor Trio in the Summer Mini I knew I had to have it so of course it was the first stamp set I ordered out of it (we SU demonstrators get to order a month early!). The Square Lattice was left off my order until about a week later when I saw a card online with it and knew I had to have it! It looks way better in person than it does in the tiny photo in the mini.

The card to the left is one of the cards in my Beginner class this month. Do you want to learn how to stamp or have some friends who would like to learn? Let them know about my $5 beginner class, this month only. I will do a 3 card class for $5 a person that shows all the basics of stamping including heat embossing. For more details e-mail me!

May is National Scrapbooking month and I thought I would put on my own special. Until May 31st purchase a Big Shot from me for only $99.95 (plus shipping and tax). Thats over $30 off. Not only is it a great deal but you also get me to come over and show you how to use it. I love my Big Shot and use it a lot. I've had other die cutting machines and find the Big Shot far more sturdy and versatile.
