Upsy daisy....

This card was sort of inspired by a tissue box I saw at the store a few weeks ago, at least the colour combination was. I saw a box that had Red and what looked like Razzleberry flowers all over it and while I thought it was an odd colour combination, it looked great. So on this card I thought I would use those colours and this is what I eventually came up with. For the flowers I coloured the stamp directly with Real Red, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Markers before stamping.

My next order is going in this Staurday the 17th. If there is anything you want please be sure to contact me before then. Don't forget to check out my April 6th post and the list of retiring colours. If any of those colours are your favourite be sure to order you ink refills, cardstock, ribbon etc before June.

Vintage Vogue with Crushed Curry...

While Crushed Curry has been probably my least favourite In Colour over the past few years I have now been experiencing a sort of infatuation with it. I used it for all my Stampers Club projects this month with Barely Banana and now I am just in love with the way it looks with Soft Suede. Of course using it with my favourite stamp set, Vintage Vogue, made it much easier to love.

Stampers clubs will be ending soon and starting up again in September. I will start taking sign ups for next years clubs at my New Catalogue party on July 3rd. If you spend $25 on Stampin Up a month you will want to join a club to get free projects, discounted classes and best of all LOTS OF FUN!

I have added an extra May Flowers class since I had overwhelming interest in it. If this is a class you wanted to take but couldn't attend on Saturday May 15th, I will be having a second class on Wednesday May 12th at 10am.

May Flowers Card Class

We will be making 10 cards (5 designs, 2 of each design) with 5 different flower stamp sets.

When: Wednesday May 12th, 10 a.m.

Where: My Place

Cost: $30

Sweet Pea Felt....

I finally broke down and bought the Sweet Pea Felt after seeing a bunch of people buy it and I just love how super cute it is on a card. Now this card took no time at all to put together, the only stamped image is the Happy Mother's Day from the All Holidays stamp set. The embossed paper is made with the Big Shot and the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder.

Just as a heads up, mark Saturday July 3rd as on your calendars for my New Catalogue Extravaganza this year! The new catalogue will be available for you to pick up, there will be door prizes and lots of great specials on new catalogue products as well as free make and takes. There will also be my stamp sale auction where you can save lots of money on the stamps and accessories that will be retired. You don't want to miss out so plan to be here.

Just so you know, those of you who have a sympatico/bell or hotmail account are not receiving any e-mail from me, and I am not receiving e-mail from you at my sympatico account ( or at least it's very hit and miss). I will be using my other e-mail stephanie_adc@yahoo.ca to send you e-mails and if you want to get ahold of me it's probably best if you call or use the yahoo e-mail address. All other servers seem to have no problem with my sympatico address.

Beautiful Wings....

The Beautiful Wings embosslits die has been so popular I thought I should probably post a card on my blog made with it. I made this one with Barely Banana, Almost Amethys ad Pretty in Pink cardstock. I made it awhile ago but I am pretty sure it was inspried by a card I either saw I saw in a magazine or saw online but it was awhile ago.
After I cut the butterflies I used a sponged dauber to put ink on the edges and the embossed area's of the butterfly. The centers are embellished with samll clear rhinestones and the "wonderful mother" stamp is from the Well Scripted stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalogue (ending April 30th)

Colour Renovation.....

There are a lot of exciting big changes coming up at Stampin Up and I thought I would give you all a heads up before your club meetings or before you place any orders this month. With the next new catalogue (starting in July) Stampin Up is changing their colour families. There are some fabulous new colours coming, past in-colours returning (you have no idea how many people have been asking for this) and of course some current colours staying. Soft Suede, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry are staying (I’m so happy about this!) The new colour line is really super beautiful but with this change it means a lot of colours are going to be retiring.

If you love a colour that is retiring now is the time to get you Classic and Craft ink refills, as well as cardstock and embellishments before they are gone for good. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me!

Vintage Vogue....

Vintage Vogue is my absolute favourite stamp set in the Occasions Mini (ending on April 30th but this stamp set WILL be in the next catalogue). I haven't been posting many cards with it because all of the cards I have made with it so far will be in my Vintage Vogue class (details in my March 26th post) and I keep those cards off my blog and website.
The class had to be resceduled due to me being sick so I promised everyone a bonus card so I though I would post it on my blog so everyone can see why this set is soooooo pretty! This class contains a lot of cutting, but I will be stamping and cutting some of the flowers ahead of time so you all don't leave here with cramped hands!

The no stamping card....

I love stamping! It's hard to believe sometimes that I have been stamping for almost 10 years now and I'm not bored at all. I still get a thrill when a new stamp set arrives, I still love the feeling when you ink up a new stamp, put it on paper and the image is perfect. I don't think it's anything I will ever give up. It truly has brought so much joy to my life, not only because I love it but because it has brought so many wonderful people into my life, that without stamping I would never know. So for that, I am very thankful today.

So despite my love of stamping I made this card without any stamping (on the outside that is). This card was made with the flower from the Pretties kit, a flower from the Sweet Peat Stitched Felt (Occasions mini), a rub on from Chit Chat rub ons, designer paper from Tea party and a scallop border punch.

Just an update on my upcoming classes...I have 2 spaces left in my glitter class and my May flowers class is now full. I still have two spaces for my April 24th Vintage Vogue make up class, sign up deadline is Sunday April 11th so I can have the stamp sets in on time.

We will be using glitter to create custome embellishments and enhance all 10 cards. Each attendee will also receive 3 small ziplocs with assorted glitters inside.

Glitter and Shimmer Class:
This is a 10 card class (5 designs, 2 of each design) with different glitter or shimmer techniques each card. There are still a few spaces left.

Where: My Place
Cost: $35

Finial Press Texturizing Folder

I finally just got the Finial Press textured impressions embossing folder and I am kicking myself for not getting it sooner. I love it and I am totally in love with colouring it with a sponge dauber and classic inks. I think the effect is so pretty. The leaf stamp is from the Leaf Lines stamp set, the sentiment is from the Full of Life stamp set and I also used the Eyelet Border Punch.

I know I have talked to many of you through e-mail so many of you know I have been sick for the past week and had to move tomorrow's Vintage Vogue class to next month. Two people won't be able to make the new date of Saturday April 24th (10 am) so if this was a class you wanted to take but was full before please let me know. Deadline for signing up is April 11th, so I can order your stamp set and have it in time. Click HERE to see all the details for the class. The only other change is that there will now be 7 projects to make up for the date change. I have to say this has been one of my favourite classes to design because I just love the Vintage Vogue stamp set. You won't be disappointed with the cards we will be making.

My final order for Sale-a-bration will be going in Tuesday February 30th. If you have an order you would like to place please have it and your payment to me by then!

Good Neighbors....

I thought I should post a card with some darker colours because lately have gone a little bit spring crazy. This is a card I made with the Good Neighbors Sale-a-bration stamp set. I have the clear mount set which makes it super easy to line up the trees and leaves in a perfect row on the Clear Mount blocks and just stamp. The sentiment is from the Thank You Kindly stamp set (also available for free if you spend $65)

My last order of the month is going in on Saturday so if there is anything you need please let me know before then!

Happy Birthday Cheryl!

Today is my friend Cheryl's birthday so I made her this card that I am sure she will love because I made sure there was pink (Melon Mambo), polka dots (which I know she loves) and glitter (hard to see but they are on the centers of the embossed flowers!) I even made sure there was no chocolate chip or black on it since she usually doesn't like that (I'm not sure what is wrong with her....who wouldn't love Chocolate Chip with any colour?)

I just love the Elegant Bouquet texture folder. I just got mine and I love the way the flowers look when I use a sponge dauber to apply little bits of colour to the flowers and swirls. The Soft Subtle colours look amazing on these flowers.

Vintage Vogue Bookmark....

Sometimes I get myself in the mindset that I can only do cards and everytime I sit down all I end up doing is cards. Well in the past few weeks I had a lot of fun making these cute little bookmarks with the Vintage Vogue stamp set (the sentiment is from the Leaf Lines stamp set...I just love that saying!) While cutting all the flowers was time consuming (I did it while watching tv!) I love the way they look on the card.

On the flowers I did a technique called "Rock and Roll". First I inked the flower with Pretty in Pink ink. Then I rolled the edges of the flower stamp in Regal Rose and then stamped

Those of you who are coming to my Vintage Vogue class next Saturday should get their "cutting hands" all warmed up because we are going to be making some beautiful cards and there is a "bit" of cutting involved. You won't be disappointed!

Bella's Bloom

Bella's Bloom is one of the stamp set I earned free from Sale-a-bration last month so I thought I should post a card that I made with it. This is a nice bright card with one of my rarely used colours, Cameo Coral.

I know everyone has their favourite colours, and tends to go for them first when making a card. I know I couldn't live without Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Chocolate Chip and Real Red. I don't think I have ever made a card with Yo Yo Yellow or Glorious Green. I guess that is something I will have to work on this week!

My next, and last order of Sale-a-bration will be going in on the evening of Saturday March 27th, so if you have anything you would like please let me know before then.

Upcoming Classes
Glitter and Shimmer Class
We will be creating cards with lots of sparkle and shine at this class.! This is a 10 card class (5 designs, 2 of each design) with different glitter or shimmer techniques each card. There are still a few spaces left.

Animal Crackers

Last week I spent some time going through some stamp sets I haven't used in awhile and and thought I should make a few cards with it. Here is the sweet little Giraffe card I made with the Animal Crackers card. I though the Reach for the stars saying would make this a good graduation type card but I think the giraffe could easily be stamped without inking the sentiment and it would make a super cute baby card.

I used Pumpkin Pie, Barely Banana and Whisper White on this card. I coloured the Giraffe with Stampin Write Marker (Barely Banana, Apricot Appeal and Pumpkin Pie for the star) and I finished the card off with Welcome Neighbor Designer Paper (sale-a-bration mini) and two star punch outs.

Saturday, March 13, 2010

A Flower for All Seasons....

A Flower for all Seasons is such a cute little stamp set, and one of the few sets that features tulips, which are my absolute favourite flowers.

For this card I used Real Red textured cardstock as well as Creamy Caramel and Very Vanilla. I coloured the image with Stampin Write Markers (Real Red, Garden Green, Creamy Caramel and Bashful Blue) The "thinking of you" sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I finished the card off with the corner Rounder punch and some Real Red brads.

I hope everyone has a nice March Break. I know I am just taking it easy.

Cute little Easter Chicks!

I saw a version of this online a while back and thought it looked like a super cute Easter card so I knew I had to recreate it. I don’t think you can go wrong with this chick. It is a super popular Easter set and I know I get a lot of use out of him at this time of year.

So Saffron and Bermuda Bay are the colours I used on this card and the patterned paper on the chicks is from the Welcome Neighbour Designer Paper Pad in the Sale-a-bration mini. The flower in the center is from the Eggcellent Eggs kit in the Occasions Mini catalogue.

Eggcellent Eggs Kit....

As soon as I saw the Eggcellent Eggs kit in the Occasions mini I knew I just had to have it. Not only because Mary and I love to dye Easter eggs and decorate them every year, I thought for $13.25 it would also have quite a few pieces to make come cute spring cards as well.

On this card I used the die cut flowers and leaves, as well as some of the rhinestones from the kit. The colours I used are Barely Banana, Certainly Celery and Regal Rose cardstock. I finished this card off with Certainly Celery Patterns Designer Series Paper and a sentiment from the Whimsical Wishes stamp set (in the Sale-a-bration mini)

I still have a few kits left for sale (listed in the next post) so check that out below!

A Good Egg....

By far the most popular Easter stamp set I have seen! This little Chick is so cute and I really love the look of his you stamp him on designer paper and cut out the shell to layer onto the chick (which is stamped on white and coloured with markers). It's a great way to use up tiny scraps of paper!

I am going to be posting some card kits for sale later this week when I get them all together so be sure to check back so you don't miss out!
Be sure to check out my Stampin Up Website,

I have listed two new classes for April and May. Classes fill up quickly so sign up early!

Don't forget this is the last month for Sale-a-bration (spend $65 get a free stamp set, punch or designer paper) So far this Sale-a-bration the most popular choices have bee Whimsical Words (gone for good after March), A Flower for All Season (out of the main catalogue, page 103) and Three Little Words (main catalogue, page 139)

Petals Pizzazz.....

Spring is in the air...at least it feels like it since all the snow is melting and it's been absolutely beautiful out the past few days.
This is a cute little spring card I made using the Petals Pizzazz stamp set and Bashful Blue and Almost Amethyst colours. The butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings embosslits die in the Occasions Mini catalogue and the sentiment is from the On Your Birthday stamp set.

Happy Moments again....

I know I haven't been posting as much, it's been a really busy couple of weeks and hopefully now I will have more time to post a more cards each week.

Here is another card using the Happy Moments stamp set from the Sale-a-bration mini catalogue. These flowers are so cute and they look so bright and spring like coloured in pink, lavender and apricot.

March is the last month for Sale-a-bration so be sure to get your favourites free before the end of the month. My next order is going in on Sunday so if there is something you need, please get your order to me by then!

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Happy Moments...

Here is another super quick card I made using the Happy Moments stamp set in the Sale-a-bration mini catalogue. I have found lately I have been running out of birthday cards and I really hate giving store bought (although I admit I have done that more than once already this year...bad me!) I also used Welcome Neighbor Designer Paper (also in the Sale-a-bration mini catalogue)to finish the card.

My next order is going in the Saturday (February 27th) so if there is anything you need please let me know before then.

Close as a Memory....

Here is a super quick and simple sympathy card I made with the Close as Memory Stamp set and Kraft, Night of Navy and Bashful Blue colours. I used the Popping Pastels technique (described below) which gives the card a really soft look. I finished the card off with a knot.
Popping Pastels technique:
1. Stamp image on confetti white cardstock with Versamark Watermark ink.
2. Pick up some pastels in your chosen colour with a small pom pom. I chose Bashful Blue and Mellow Moss for this card.
3. Dab the pastel over the versamark image. The colour will stick. Brush over the image lightly with a clean tissue to remove excess chalk.
If you rub instead of dab you will have more of a colour shadow around your image, which looks great too but I did not do it with this card.

Very Thankful...

Isn’t this turtle the cutest? If there is one thing lacking in my stamp collection it’s cute stamps and this turtle fills the void. He comes from the Very Thankful stamp set on page 209 (last page of the catalogue) This is Stampin Up’s Ronald McDonald House stamp set, for every stamp set purchased, $2 is donated to Ronald McDonald House Charity. This stamp set is also available Free as a Sale-a-bration item when you spend $65 (before shipping and tax)

I finished off this card with Designer Paper from the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin Kit (have to use up that Christmas paper somehow!) and coloured the image with Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Going Gray, Close to Cocoa and Real Red Stampin Write Markers.

Baroque Motifs

Baroque Motifs is definitely a classic stamp set and great for making cards simple elegant cards. This card can be for lots of different occasion, that's why I left it blank so I could stamp on the inside when I need to use it. I used Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla and Rich Razzleberry colours and finished the card off with a half pearl from the Pretties Kit.

Thank you to all of you who bought card kits or candy kits. Altogether $105 was raised for Jump Rope for Heart! Great job!

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Razzle Dazzle....

I was cutting some of the new Beautiful Wings butterfly dies out and was trying to figure out what to with them when I thought it would look great with the Razzle Dazzle stamp set and the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper. I used to think of Crushed Curry as more of an autumn colour but paired with white, as well as butterflies gives it a really spring feel. I finished the card off using the Scallop Trim border punch, gold brad and white taffeta ribbon

Below is a picture of Jake, back to normal enjoying a rawhide Valentine his "Auntie" Cheryl gave him.

Another "For All You Do"....

Here is another card made with the "For All You Do" stamp set. I just keep reaching for this stamp set when making cards lately (and given how many stamp sets I have downstairs that says a lot!) I finished this card with Cottage Wall Designer Paper and a little bit of silver glitter for the centers of the flowers.

I think I am going to really miss Rich Razzleberry when it discontinues in July. I'm not even a purple person but this is a really unique colour and I am enjoying the different colour combinations it provides.

I have one space left in my Vintage Vogue class on March 27th. Check out my post on January 3 for all the details. This will be a fabulous class using my new favourite stamp set in the Occasion Mini. You won't be disappointed.

Greenhouse Garden

Here is a super quick and simple card I made with the Greenhouse Garden stamp set. I can never resist a pretty flower stamp set and although I tried to resist this one I just couldn't.

Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose are nice springy colours. It's hard to see in this scan but the flowers are also accented with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The Happiness Always stamp is from the Whimisical Words stamp set in the Sale-a-bration mini.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

For All You Do.....

For All You Do is definitely in my top 5 go to stamp sets right now. I just love the flowers and the butterfly in it! I love to cut, I know many people don't but this card would not be the same if the flowers and stems weren't cut out. This card is finished off with Tea Party Designer Paper, Rhinestone brads and Certainly Celery ribbon. The colours used on this card are Whisper White, Certainly Celery and Almost Amethyst.

This card is also an example of my club members homework assignment...which is due this weekend for many of you at our next club meeting. So if you haven't done your "homework" get to it or you have to sit beside me at the meeting!

Love You Much

Valentine's is coming up quick so now is the time to finish up all those Valentine projects. For this card I used the Love You Much stamp set and the with All my Heart stamp set with lots of Real Red. The Designer Paper is from the Sending Love Specialty Paper.

Make a bunch of mini Valentine cards or mini Valentine treats and sneak them in your child's lunch box so they get a nice surprise when they are at school. I have a bunch set aside to fill Mary's lunches for the next two weeks.

Love You Much....

I was getting all "pinked" out lately so I thought I would make a Valentine using a few untraditional Valentine Colours. This card is made with Taken with Teal, Green Galore and Melon Mambo. The Love You Much was coloured with a Taken with Teal Marker, overcoloured with a Versamark marker and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I finished the card off with the Spiral Punch.

I am really counting my blessings today. Yesterday we witnessed Jake get hit by a car. It was probably the scariest thing I ever saw. He took off down the driveway to chase car #1 and car #2 behind hit Jake. Luckily he saw Jake and was slowing down. Jake spent yesterday morning at the vet (Callander Animal Hospital who were WONDERFUL!) getting X-Rays and basically the most damage he has suffered is cuts and bruises. He was limping around yesterday but this morning he is a bundle of energy and for that I am extremely thankful. he gets to spend his day today being babied and spoiled because I am just so grateful that he is still here! Hug your pets today!

Happy as Happy gets....

The Flight of the Butterfly is my "go to" stamp set these days. I love how easy it is to use (and I know those of you who hate to cut love the fact that there is a matching butterfly punch!) and I don't think I have made a card I don't like with it. In fact my favourite card from tomorrow's Pinkalicious class features this stamp set!

I am placing an order tomorrow if there is anything you need!

Supplies Used on this card:
  • Flight of the Butterfly Stamp set
  • Real Red Classic Ink
  • Real Red Craft ink
  • Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder
  • Sending Love Specialty Paper
  • Chocolate Chip Textured cardstock
  • Pretty in Pink Cardstock

Scallop Trim Punches...

I wanted to make a nice frilly looking Valentine so I knew I would need two things...glitter and the new Scallop Trim punches in the Sale-a-bration and Occasion mini.

Using the Scallop Trim corner punch and the Scallop trim border together takes a little planning so that it all matches up. For this card I started with a 4 1/4" square of Vanilla cardstock and everything matched up perfectly.

The Hearts are from the Sizzlets Hearts set and the words are fom the All My Heart stamp set. I finished the card with Sending Love Specialty Paper, Red Grosgrain Ribbon, a Vanilla ribbon sliver and Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

Monkey Valentine....

I just think the Monkey from Fox and Friends is so adorable I had to put him on a Valentine. I used the Hearts from the I Heart Hearts stamp set and the sentiment is from the Well Scripted stamp set (all these sets are in the Occasions Mini) I think the "Love you Much" sentiment is perfect for this card! Also on this card are Chocolate Chip jumbo brads as well as Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink cardstock!

Club members....don't forget to do your homework! I can't wait to see what you all have done.

Well Scripted....

Sometimes the prettiest cards are ones without a lot on them! This is a simple little card I made with the Well Scripted stamp set (Occasions Mini), Pretties flowers and Bride Specialty Paper (which makes every card look extra special) I finished it off with a clear hine stone brad and black Satin ribbon (Occasion mini)

I just love how this one turned out. This card is going to be for my parents anniversary (and I really mean congratulations because now that they are both retired I wasn't sure they would both be alive to reach their next anniversary...LOL!)

We have a lot of fun at our stampin groups and classes. This is a picture That Debbie sent me (with the caption) of Irene re-enacting her great fall (Irene leaned over too far and fell off her chair...Tara didn't even try to catch her! In fact I am pretty sure Tara or Debbie pushed in her in the first place, although they deny it and I have no proof) I guess the excitement of all the great new Sale-a-bration and Occasions mini stuff just knocked her over!

Whoo's Your Valentine - Goldfish

To the left is a sample of the second item I plan to give out to Mary's class this Valentine's day made with the Whoo's Your Valentine stamp set. I figure the Goldfish crackers will balance out all the sugar they are going to get that day.

At first I only made a "girl" version with the Melon Mambo, Only Orange and Apricot Appeal but a club member asked if I was going to make a boy version so I whipped one up yesterday with Brocade Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue. The background on the folded Top Note die is made with the Whimsy Jumbo Wheel.

There is only two spaces left in my Quick Cards class and two spaces left in my Vintage Vogue class so if you were thinking of signing up send me an e-mail.

Whoo's Your Valentine Lollypops....

Aren't these cute? I have been having a lot of fun making these for Mary's class this Valentine's day. They are so nice and bright and colourful and super cheap to make. I know the kids will just rip them apart but what's the point of making all these cute things if you can't share them with other people!

Check out tomorrow's blog post to see what else I make with the Whoo's Your Valentine stamp set. My next order is going in Sunday January 24th so if there is anything you need please get your order to me by then. The order will be in with plenty of time to still make some Valentine's projects!

Congratulations to CeeJay, who was the first person to comment on one of my blog posts in the New Year. She wins a kit to make 5 of these super cute lollypo holders....all she has to do is assemble them. Thanks for posting your comment on my blog CeeJay! I really appreciate it!

Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder

I am madly in love with the new Perfect Polka Dots Texture folder in the new Occasions mini...so much so I gave my club members homework with it! (If you missed club or just want to try out the homework send me an e-mail if you want info on this months "assignment") This is another example of a card made with the sketch you have to work with.

I love Bermuda Bay and Chocolate Chip together (of course, anyone who knows me, knows I like Chocolate Chip with any colour!) I dyed the large flower from the Pretties kit with an Aqua Painter and a few drops of Bermuda Bay ink refill. This card is finished off with the "You're Too Kind" stamp from the Whimsical Words stamp set (Sale-a-bration), Thoroughly Modern Designer Paper and a Chocolate Chip Corduroy button.

The New Occasions Mini....

Here is a card I made using the new I Heart Hearts stamp set in the new Occasion mini. I also featured the new Scallop trim Border punch, which you can earn free with a $65 purchase (before shipping and tax) I don't use a lot of purple but I really like the classy look of Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum and Perfect Plum together. I finished the card off with a White Taffeta ribbon and the "Love Always" sentiment from the Chit Chat rub ons.

I know some of you still don't have the Occasions Mini (I always get Stampin Up to send one to me when I get them to send your out and I don't have mine yet! If you want to take a look at it online, click HERE to see all the great new stuff now available!

I am especially in love with the Vintage Vogue stamp set, Sending Love Speicalty Designer Paper, Well Scripted stamp set andPerfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder.

Mary's Thank You cards...

I'm trying to get Mary into the habit of sending thank you cards, especially to people who don't get to see her open her presents and this was what we came up with for her Christmas card thank you cards. I did the cutting and gluing, sh did the colouring. The Build a Bear stamps are super cute and we have got a lot of use out of them for birthday parties. Mary loves to colour and when I let her use my Stampin Up markers (which happens rarely) she loves it even more.
